How to export and save your reading history from TULIPS and Discovery System?

To improve our services, NTU Library will launch a new automation system on October 11th. During the migration period, some services will be temporarily suspended. Thanks for your cooperation.  Readers should export and save their reading history before Oct 7th 2018. The new system will not retain the above information.

The steps are as follows:

I. How to export “My Reading History” from TULIPS

IV. How to export “e-Shelf” from Discovery System


 

I. How to export “My Reading History” from TULIPS

Click “My Library”, and enter your patron ID & password.

“My Reading History” → “Export List”
If you don’t mark any record, the system will export all records.

1. Format Of List:
If you need plain text (.txt), click “Full Display”.
If you want to keep these records in EndNote, click “End-Note/RefWorks”.

2. Send List To:
You can click “Local Disk” to save the file.

Remember to click “Clear Saved Records”, otherwise next time you will export these records again.

 

II. How to export “My Lists” from TULIPS

Click “Export List” to export the records. If you don’t mark any record, the system will export all records.

1. Format Of List:
If you need plain text (.txt), click “Full Display”.
If you want to keep these records in EndNote, click “End-Note/RefWorks”.

2. Send List To:
You can click “Local Disk” to save the file.

Remember to click “Clear Saved Records”, otherwise next time you will export these records again.

 

III. How to import records into EndNote

You can use EndNote to keep and manage these records from “My Reading History” or “My List”.  Before importing to EndNote, please check the records! Open the file (export.txt) which the format of list is “End-Note/RefWorks”.  If there is no author data, please add %A by yourself.

Open an EndNote Library, click the “IMPORT” icon.
Choose the file you just exported (and checked).
Set “Import Option” as “EndNote Import”.

 

IV. How to export “e-Shelf” from Discovery System

Click “Sign in”, and enter your patron ID & password.

Click “e-Shelf”

When entering your “e-Shelf”, click a folder and mark the records you need. Then, select the format you want to save, “Push to Export RIS(EndNote)”. Remember to click “Go”.

Select “UTF-8” as your encoding format, and download “Primo_RIS_Export.ris” file.

  

Open “Primo_RIS_Export.ris”, and the records will be imported automatically into EndNote.
