法國存在主義作家與女權運動先驅 Simone de Beauvoir
2014年1月9日的Google Doodle，紀念的是法國存在主義作家、70年代女權運動創始人之一的Simone de Beauvoir西蒙．波娃女士，今天是她的106歲誕辰。根據大英簡明百科知識庫描述，Simone de Beauvoir是法國作家及女權主義者，在巴黎大學就讀時，認識了沙特，同他形成終生的知識和浪漫的夥伴關係。Simone de Beauvoir主要以專著《The Second Sex》（1949）聞名，在書中她以學者身分熱情地呼籲取消她所謂的「永恆的女性」的神話，成為女權主義文學中的經典之作。她還寫了四本廣受好評的自傳（1958～1972），數本探討存在主義的哲學著作，著名的小說《Les Mandarins》（1954）更獲得法國的重要文學獎項：龔固爾獎（The Goncourt Prize）。她有感於社會對老年人的漠不關心而發表《The Coming of Age》（1970），對這一現象作了尖銳的諷刺。
